Founder and Coach

Namrata (Nami) Motwani is the founder and lead coach of Veritas Debate Academy Inc. (VDA). With over seven years of competitive debate experience and numerous awards at both regional and national levels, she has honed skills in research, critical thinking, and public speaking. At VDA, Nami is dedicated to making high-quality debate education accessible to elementary and middle school students. She coaches across multiple debate formats, helping students build confidence, sharpen their reasoning, and apply their voices to real-world issues. Beyond debate, Nami is an accomplished writer and public policy researcher with a strong background in leadership, youth advocacy, and civic engagement. Nami’s journey is defined by her dedication to service, reflecting her belief that true impact comes from uplifting others and creating opportunities for meaningful change.

History

Founded in 2023, Veritas Debate Academy Inc. (VDA) was built on the belief that every student deserves access to debate education, no matter their background or resources. What began as a small initiative has grown into a thriving academy dedicated to dismantling barriers to educational achievement, empowering young voices, and providing equitable opportunities for growth and leadership.

Our Programs

Introductory Debate Grades 4-5

In our elementary program, students learn how to thoroughly research and write an argumentative essay as it serves as a strong foundation for good debate. Through this learning process, students learn to think critically, refine their reasoning, and communicate their ideas with clarity and conviction, all of which are key components of successful debate.

Get Involved

Intermediate Debate Grades 6-8

At this stage, debaters embark on their journey as true competitors. Our middle school program offers a structured introduction to debate and persuasive speaking, emphasizing familiarity with various formats and the development of advanced refutation and argument-building skills. Through personalized instruction, continuous feedback, and practice rounds, we equip students with the tools they need to excel in competitive debates.

Fees:Lessons are provided at no cost to ensure that all students have equal access to high-quality educational opportunities. While these lessons are offered for free to ensure accessibility for all, we welcome voluntary donations for those who want to contribute towards the lessons.
